Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) investigators are looking into a burglary at a Covington gas station.

According to the NCSO report, shortly after 5 a.m. Feb. 2, Deputy Corey Phillips responded to a burglary alarm at the Shell gas station at 20 Salem Circle. On his arrival, Phillips found forced entry into the store. There was nobody at the scene. After the key holder arrived and entry was made into the business, two cash registers and an undisclosed amount of cash were reportedly missing.
