Volunteers are needed for Covington's Great American Cleanup Event, to be held Saturday, March 26.
The Covington group will meet at 9 a.m. at the Kroger at U.S. Highway 278.
Individuals or groups may participate in the event, sponsored by Keep Covington Newton Beautiful. Biscuits and coffee will be served, and bags, gloves and T-shirts will be distributed.
The main event is March 26, but you can conduct a cleanup at any time through May.
You can also sign up to Adopt A Mile or a neighborhood cleanup. In Adopt A Mile, your group agrees to clean a stretch of highway four times a year. Supplies are provided and your group gets a sign acknowledging its contribution along your stretch of road.
