Masterpieces: Southern Heartland Arts Inc. held the annual fundraiser for visual art classes and camps at the event facility at Porterdale Mill Lofts Feb. 6. The event was sponsored by United Bank and Air Conditioning Specialist Inc., with entertainment provided by table sponsors made up of local businesses and individuals. After a social hour and prime rib dinner provided by Stalvey's Catering, guests enjoyed a lively auction for vacation getaways, including a four-night stay in Branson, Mo., rounds of golf at premiere golf locations and specialty dinners. The silent auction of art, provided by members of Southern Heartland Art Guild, was a guest favorite and let guests bid on original local art. The evening ended with casino entertainment, provided by Funtastica, followed by a raffle drawing for more than 50 prizes donated by local merchants. The evening was a grand success, and SHA is already making plans for next year's event, traditionally held the first Saturday in February.
