'Sunshine' to be camp finale

“Let the Sunshine In,’’ the production that is the finale of the Arts Association in Newton County’s Musical Theatre Camp, will be at 7 p.m. July 19 in Porter Memorial Hall at the old Newton High School, 140 Ram Drive, Covington.

During the camp’s two sessions, students in grades 4-12 have instruction in music, drama and Broadway dance, focusing on the period of the 1960s with musical theater.

Camp directors are Mary Lynn Luke, music; Jay Tryall, drama; and Ashley and Peter Swan, dance. All are artistic directors for the Young Artists programs of the Arts Association: Oxford Singing Children, Oxford Youth Singers, and Covington Regional Ballet School & Company.

Sponsors are William H. Mathieu, P.C.; Alexander Royston, LLP; and Michelin Tread Technologies. Collaborators are the Arts Association and the Newton County School System.
