Visions Nomination Form

To whom it may concern,

2019 Visions .jpg

The Covington News is knee-deep in creating its 2019 Visions magazine, a progress edition highlighting what the Newton County community is doing right. Last year, we had a lot of success with our first-ever Visions magazine and we are excited to bring it back for another year.

That being said, I am reaching out today to ask for your help. In the magazine, we have a couple awards that we give out tot he most deserving people in Newton County. These awards are given to people who truly make this community work.

As a leader in this community, I am asking for your help in finding these honorees for these special awards. If you know anyone that fits these descriptions, please fill out the nomination form below and return it to The Covington News office.

Community Spirit: The Community Spirit Award is given to someone who is well-known in Newton County for getting things done and making this a better place for you and me. Special consideration will be given to someone who has been doing it for a long time. Think of it like this: "Newton County wouldn't be what it is today without _________." Whose name would you put in that blank? That's the person who deserves the Community Spirit Award.

Youth of the Year: This award is given to a student in Newton County with a bright future. This isn't just based on academic excellence, but all-around excellence. Is he or she the recipient of a big scholarship? Did he or she rack up more volunteer hours than the rest of us? That's going to look a lot better than just having straight-A's.

Unsung Heroes: The Unsung Hero awards are given to people who maybe work for a nonprofit, or are excellent volunteers. These people can't help but be involved and we want to make sure they're recognized for it, even if that is something they would never ask for.

Employer of the Year: Do you know of a company that treats its employees like the rock stars they are? It might be an industry of 1,000 workers or your mom and pop shop of 15.

Thank you for taking the time to consider the people in your organization and this community for these awards. We truly want to make sure we are reaching everyone in the community and we cannot do that without your help.

Sincerely,

Jackie Gutknecht,

Editor and Publisher
