There was a shake-up in the top-5 of the Class AAAAAA football rankings this week after a big weekend of football across the state.
North Gwinnett held on to the No. 1 spot in the weekly ScoreAtlanta.com football poll this week
after taking this past week off.
The Bulldogs currently sit 2-0 in the polls with wins over Camden County and Grayson.
McEachern also held onto the No. 2 spot in the poll during its bye week.
The Indians also are 2-0 on the season with wins over Brookwood and Lassiter.
The biggest change in the top-5 came at the No. 3 position as Lowndes fell out of the top-10 poll after dropping a 15-14 decision at home to Newton.
Colquitt County jumped from the No. 5 spot to the No. 3 position after defeating Lovejoy 17-13 at home this weekend.
North Cobb stayed in the No. 4 spot in the poll, while Peachtree Ridge entered the top 5.
Both teams had bye weeks this past weekend.
Norcross, Mill Creek and Marietta remained in the top-10, taking the No. 6-8 positions, respectively.
Marietta was the only team in the grouping in action last week, beating Brookwood 44-10 at home.
Valdosta entered the rankings at No. 9 this week, cracking the top-10 with a 30-point victory over Brooks County.
Lovejoy remained in the top-10 in the final spot of the poll after falling to the Packers 17-14.
In the Class AAAA poll, Sandy Creek remained in the top spot with a convincing 55-28 win over Newnan.
Burke County took the No. 2 spot in the poll, while Carrollton, Marist and Griffin rounded out the top-5.
The Burke County Bears earned their first win of the year with a 55-0 shutout of Hephzibah this past weekend.
The rest of the top-10 remained the same as last week's poll, with Statesboro (No. 6), Westside-Macon (No. 7), Stockbridge (No. 8), Monroe Area (No. 9) and Riverdale (No. 10) finishing out the poll.
