Three local standouts, senior Aubree Thacker (Alcovy), Eastside juniors McKensi “Taz” Powell and Catlin Ray were selected to the 2014 GADC Elite 80 by the Georgia Dugout Club coaches as Georgia Elite High School softball players. College coaches from all over the state packed the stands to watch as players showcased their talent.

During the games, coaches would tell players where they wanted to see them play and/or how they wanted to them to hit (left or right). Thacker said she talked with about five schools, some of which invited her to visit their respective campuses.
