The under-8 boys’ Covington Galaxy 2023 Black soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the state and the nation by Soccer in College.

The Galaxy has a rating of 6.223, besting the Wolves from the North Atlanta Soccer Association, which has a rating of 6.213 and the AFC 05 Boys White out of Atlanta with a 6.206 ranking.

After their first season, the Galaxy have scored 97 goals, with 12 against.

The Galaxy have gone 4-2-1 in its last two tournaments, not losing a match since falling to the AFC 05 Boys on Nov. 18. Most recently, the nation’s top under-8 team tied fourth-ranked Concorde PA Black 2-2 in the Georgia Express Festival 6v6 tournament on May 12. The draw came after a 9-0 victory over SSA Paulding Jr. Academy Blue and a 3-0 win over the SDY Jaguars on May 11.
