The Newton County Recreation Commission held its four football championship games and The News made sure to have you covered.

In the opening game, The Bulldogs defeated the Hurricanes 29-7 in an entertaining game to claim the Training League championship. The second game of the day pitted the Tarheels in a shootout against the Seminoles for the Division 1 championship and it was the ’Heels coming away with a 40-21 win.

The two late games to decide the other two divisions were equally as entertaining. The Yellow Jackets took home the Division 2 championship with a 28-6 win over the Hurricanes. The final game of the day was another shootout. The Division 3 Hurricanes exacted revenge for their lower-tier brethren with a 38-21 win over the Buckeyes.

It was a great day overall. The weather was perfect and all kids involved had a great time. Win or lose, your all champions in our eyes.

We have uploaded more than 400 pictures from the four games. You can purchase pictures through our website. To view the photo album log on to covnews.com and click on the photos tab at the top. Thank you for the support of all the parents, coaches and the Recreation Commission for another great youth football season.
