Eastside once again proved to be the dominant golf team in Newton County Wednesday.
Eastside's girls' and boys' golf teams continued their respective victorious runs in the Newton Cup topping Alcovy and Newton.
The Lady Eagles won their fifth straight cup, while the boys won for the eighth straight time.
The Eagles shot a team total of 320, led by Quinn Murphy and Brandon Shives.
Murphy shot a tournament-low 75, while Shives shot a 79 in the 18-hole individual portion of the event.
Eastside, Newton and Alcovy also participated in a scramble format prior to spring break.
The Eagles won both events, including edging Alcovy by 47 shots and Newton by 208 on Wednesday.
Matt Mitchell and Jordan Liefels each shot an 83 to round out the Eagles' scoring.
"Every year that's one of our goals as a team, to retain the Newton Cup," Eastside coach Jay Cawthon. "We feel very good about our program, and it gets us tuned up for the region tournament"
The Eagles have just a week left to work toward the postseason and the Region 4-AAA tournament.
