Eagle baseball came full force in the region playoffs tonight as they swept Spalding in a doubleheader winning the first game 4-2 and the second 15-4.

Charlie Greenich pitched the first game and went all seven innings and allowed just two hits while throwing six K’s. A Hunter Ballard double in the second inning scored Chase Raines and Jared Jones followed that up with an RBI single to score Connor Hewell and give the Eagles a 2-1 lead after a Jaguars solo homerun at the top of the second. The Eagles added two more runs in the third and fourth innings while holding Spalding to just one to earn the 4-2 victory.

Gray Ritchie came to the mound in the second game, but gave up four runs after the Eagles had amassed a 6-0 lead. Ballard came in and dealt the Eagles to victory. Eastside’s offense woke up in the sixth inning and scored nine runs to extend their lead to 15-4 and get the mercy rule win after the sixth inning.
