On a windy afternoon Eastside golf broke over .500, beating Rockdale 168-209 Monday.
Quinn Murphy led the way for the Eagles, shooting a 2-over 38 on nine holes at The Oaks Course.
Brandon Shives was close behind, shooting a 3-over 39, while Matt Mitchell and Jack Mitchell rounded out the scoring with a 45 and 46 respectively.
The Eagles first win came, 162-165, over Morgan County on Feb. 29.
Murphy again led the way, along with Shives, shooting a 1-over 37.
Jordan Leifels shot a 42 and Matt Mitchell shot a 46 against Morgan County.
The are looking to return to the state tournament after losing several key players from the team which won a region championship two years ago. But it won't be easy.
Tate Miller, Ace Cook and Nick Greene all graduated and are playing college golf this year.
Adding another element of difficulty is the move to a new home course. The Eagles have played at Indian Creek Golf Club the past several years but were forced to find a new home course in the offseason after Indian Creek shut down operations while up for sale. Eastside also must share practice time with Alcovy and Newton. Alcovy also makes the transition to The Oaks. Newton has played at The Oaks
