Eastside High School will host its annual Taste of Eastside tomorrow beginning at 4 p.m.

The event will feature live performances from David Clemons, Shane Willwood and Drew Parker, as well as food and fun, including a cornhole tournament.

Tickets to the event are $10, with a $25 fee to enter the cornhole tournament.

"The great thing about this event is that it's not just a football event; it's an athletic event," Eastside football coach Rick Hurst said. "We put this together last year after viewing how successful the event was at other schools, and we had a great first year with it. We hope to see continued sucess this year."

Tickets have been presold to the event, but they can also be purchased at the door on Saturday.

Last year, the Eastside Athletic Department raised $17,000 at the event.

"We had awesome participation last year," Hurst said. "It's a big deal for our programs because it helps to offset the cost of all of our sports."

Hurst said that the Taste of Eastside will feature over 20 restaurants.

"We're going to have about 23 restaurants and about 25 or so vendors," he said. "There is going to be a lot of food and entertainment for both kids and adults. It's going to be a big day and a big event."

The Eagles hope to exceed last year's goal.

Proceeds from the event go to support the Eagles' Athletic Department and the Eastside Drama Department.
