Both Alcovy and Eastside have starting lineups majorly made up of either sophomores and/or freshmen. The question coming into the game was “which team‘s inexperience would show more?” The answer to that question is Alcovy, as their inexperience showed throughout the game where they fell 36-6 to the Eagles.
On the third play of the game, Eastside’s Eric Stokes ran up the middle and to the outside for a 65 yard touchdown, and from that point on the game was theirs.
The Eagles eventually went up 22-0, and at the beginning of the second quarter, Alcovy gave them a scare after Bubba Hickson tossed a 36-yard touchdown to Kenyon Kelley on a drive that was helped by penalties from Eastside.
There wasn’t much offense in terms of scoring after that for the Tigers. The Eagles scored another touchdown on a swing pass from Holloway to go up 29-6. Then in the fourth quarter to seal the deal, if it wasn’t sealed already, Holloway tossed a 10-yard touchdown to Evan House to put Eastside up 36-6.
