COVINGTON, Ga. — The Alcovy soccer teams triumphed over Salem on March 21 to earn their first wins of the 2022 season.

The Lady Tigers took the field first to kick off the night.

In their match, the Lady Tigers celebrated a 3-2 victory over the Lady Seminoles.

All three goals were scored by Tania Menchaca, recording a hat trick for the Lady Tigers.

Afterward, head coach Dwayne Graydon was happy to see his team enjoy a win this year.

“It felt great to see the team celebrate their first victory,” Graydon said. “It has been a challenge this year with the lack of experience and a lot of first year players. Hopefully, it will get them confidence and motivation to finish out the season.”

Closing out the night were the Tigers.

Alcovy’s offense came alive against Salem on Monday night, too.

The Tigers enjoyed their 9-3 win over the Seminoles with eight different Tigers netting goals on Monday.

Derrick Curran, Destin Cochran, Jesse Whaley, Marco Gonzalez, Christian Tamayo, Osama Abdelaal, Carlos Romero-Marin and Kamani Dopwell all scored goals to help lead Alcovy to victory.

As a result of the wins, both boys and girls teams improved to 1-10.

Region matches at Grovetown were scheduled for Friday, March 25.
