Tierra Hodges scored 34 points in a comeback victory for the Lady Tigers after her team was down by 16 in the second quarter before defeating Evans on their home turf, 59-55.
Alcovy got off to a slow start, but clawed back in the game by switching defenses constantly in the second quarter to pull within four by halftime.
“Quantasia Perry made some great steals and ignited some points off of steals to get us back,” Coach Kevin Furtado, said.
The third quarter started with a 14-8 run by Alcovy to take and hold the lead.
“We controlled the ball in the fourth quarter and senior Tierra Hodges made some key buckets in crunch time to pull out the win. Great team win by our girls and we really played together to secure the victory,” Furtado said in an email.
Perry had 13 points to go with Hodges’ 34. The Lady Tigers are 12-7 on the season. Their next game is Tuesday, January 26 at Rockdale.
