Last semester, the WBL program had 92 participants. They were evaluated on their 1st semester WBL portfolio, supervisor evaluations, and overall WBL performance. 21 of these students met the criteria for WBL student of the year award. Each were asked to answer three essay questions and submit.  These essay questions asked students to respond about their WBL experience, their future goals, and their relevant coursework.  The student responses were then given to the WBL award selection committee. There is a WBL student of the year chosen from each high school. The winner will compile more documentation of their WBL experience and compete for the GA DOE WBL student of the year. The state winner will be announced in July at the GACTE conference. RCPS WBL has had the state GA DOE WBL student of the year for the last two years.
