A Conyers woman is in custody for allegedly stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife Thursday night.
Kelly Hubert, 29, allegedly stabbed her24-year-old husband after the two had a verbal and physical altercation at their home. The dispute pertained to the husband's plans for that evening, in which Hubert thought he was going to be with another woman.
The husband was stabbed in the back near his left shoulder. According to the incident report, an EMS Unit arrived on the scene to treat the wound. He refused to be transported to Rockdale Medical Center.
When Deputy Tiffany Castillo arrived on the house on Loch Haven Drive, Hubert, who is four months pregnant with twins, told the deputy that her husband jumped on her and threatened to kill her because she wanted to divorce him, according to the incident report.
The husband had fled the area prior to the Castillo's arrival, which was around 8 p.m.
"(The husband) wanted to go out with his friends to Dudley's bar and (Kelly) told him every time the weekend comes around, he wants to go ‘trick off' with other chicks," Castillo wrote in her report. "She also stated that she told him to take all of his belongings with him if he left the house."
The husband returned to the house while Castillo was still there and told a different story in which he is the victim.
"(He) then stated that he and some friends were going out to Dudley's bar in Lithonia and his wife wanted to go," Castillo wrote. "He said he changed his mind and said he was going to Covington instead. When he told his wife he was going to Covington, she started to fight him, because she thought he was going to be with another girl."
The husband claimed his wife attacked him with two knives initially. He told Castillo he was able to wrestle one of the knives away from his wife, but she managed to pierce his skin with the other knife.
Two witnesses who were at the scene corroborated the husband's story.
Kelly Hubert admitted to stabbing her husband and cutting his sneakers with the same knife, according to the report.
She's currently being held in the Rockdale County Jail and is being charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespass.
The couple have been married since April. In addition to their twins on the way, the couple has a 2-year-old son together.
