An Atlanta man is in jail on drug charges after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in the parking lot of a Waffle House early Sunday morning.

A customer allegedly saw the 2000 Crown Victoria driven by Toijuan Duffy, 34, hit the victim's car while pulling into the parking lot at the Waffle House on Honey Creek Road. The victim reported that Duffy asked the victim not to contact authorities because he was "messed up," according to the arrest report.

When the victim did contact the sheriff's department, Duffy then allegedly fled the scene and was spotted by officers responding to the incident on Ga Hwy 20 towards Conyers.

Authorities were able to pull Duffy over in the parking lot of the Waffle House at the intersection of Ga. Highway 20 and Ga. Highway 138 where the suspect then allegedly ran on foot after giving his license to authorities. Moments later deputies received word that Duffy was back at the original scene of the accident and authorities were able to arrest him while he was allegedly calling his mother to pick him up.

Duffy was charged with hit and run, driving while license suspended, misdemeanor obstruction, and felony possession of suspected marijuana after authorities allegedly found two separate bags of marijuana on the suspect.
