Before you sit down to gorge yourself this Thanksgiving, consider burning off a few calories for a good cause.

Elks Aidmore Children's Center is holding their twelfth annual Turkey Trot and fun walk/run on Saturday, Nov. 20 with registration starting at 8 a.m. The 5K run is at 9 a.m. and the 1 mile Turkey Tot Trot fun run/walk is at 9:20 a.m.

Pre-registration is $20, and race-day registration is $25. For those ages 8 and under, pre-registration is $10 and race-day is $15. Ghost runners (who are simply paying to support the center and receive a T-shirt) pay $15. All registered runners will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt while supplies last.

The course winds through 141 wooded acres of the picturesque Elks Aidmore center, which provides programs for at-risk girls and youth.
