Taste of Conyers and Conyers Car Show, May 3

Anyone with an appetite for good eats and hot cars is invited to Olde Town Conyers for the annual Taste of Conyers on Saturday, May 3, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., hosted by Main Street Conyers.

The Taste of Conyers features local restaurants offering small samples, or tastes, of their specialties. One dollar tickets will be available for purchase in any quantity. Restaurants price their samples ranging from $1-$4 per sample.

Restaurants scheduled to participate to date include: Las Flores, Mandarin Garden, Beasley's Drug Company, Gigi's Place, Celtic Tavern, Sweet and Savory Café, Shane's Rib Shack, Creamberry's Ice Cream, 908 Events, Thai Palace, terry O'chele's Food for Thought, Rio's Italian Ice, Awake Coffee, Mellow Mushroom, Dee's Gourmet and Soul Food, Sugar Bakers, The Chocolate Box and Cakes & Desserts, with other restaurants expected to sign up prior to the event. The Taste of Conyers also features live entertainment and children's activities.

The Conyers Main Street Program has once again partnered with the Conyers Car Show, presented by Redline Events, to offer event participants a look at vintage cars parked along Railroad Street while enjoying their sweet and savory treats from the Taste of Conyers. Live entertainment will be featured on the Conyers Depot stage on Railroad Street. Performers include Ballad Brian Frey at 11 a.m., Kristin Tinsley at 12:00 p.m., The Woody's Acoustic at 1 p.m. and ArenA at 2 p.m.

The Taste of Conyers also features the return of the popular Boy Scout Zone offering a variety of scouting activities and demonstrations that children can participate in as well as campsite meals prepared on-site. The Boy Scout Zone is presented by the Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew 194.

"The Taste of Conyers is always a popular event in which the public can come out and enjoy samples from a variety of local restaurants all in one setting, in historic Olde Town Conyers," said Main Street Manager Monica Coffin. "The food vendors paired with our local merchants, car show and children's activities makes a great Saturday outing for the entire family."
