IN BRIEF: A student at Salem High School was arrested this morning after authorities found a handgun in the student's bag.
Salem Principal Tonya Bloodworth sent a message out to parents saying, "This morning, school officials retrieved an unloaded handgun from a student's back pack. There was no indication of intent to use the weapon and no ammunition was brought on campus; however, we will continue to investigate this matter."
