Laid-off workers may be able to get a temporary job cleaning and repairing public property damaged by the late April storms.
The Georgia Department of Labor received a $5 million National Emergency Grant to assist with storm recovery efforts.The grant will be used to hire cleanup workers and staff for public and non-profit agencies helping in the relief effort, including public assistance agencies, as well as counselors to help the grieving and traumatized, according to a state press release.
