The 7U Rockdale Raptors, an all-star team from the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association, won the USSSA State Championship by defeating the PC Mudcats 15-4 in the championship game at Stockbridge to bring home the gold.

The Raptors outscored their opponents 103-48 over the three-day, double elimination tournament and only dropped one game along the way.

One of the Raptors' victories was against a team coming into the tournament ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 2 in the nation. The state championship is the cap to a season in which the Raptors went 22-6.

The Raptors have reached the championship game in every tournament entered except one during this summer season. The Raptors also won the Sub-State tournament held at RYBA in June, and the Raptors finished second in an 8U tournament in Macon, losing 6-5 in extra innings.
