Emily Myers of Conyers, a senior at George Walton Academy and the daughter of Albert A. and Dr. Dana Myers of Conyers, was named a Walton County STAR student  at a recognition banquet held Feb. 21 at the Monroe Golf and Country Club. She selected Karen Barrett as her STAR Teacher. The Star Teacher Student Recognition Award recognizes high school seniors based on their SAT score and the teachers who have been instrumental in their academic development. Myers, a previous STAR student, is active in the George Walton band and is the founding president of the Interact Club.
