A reported standoff with an armed military veteran and police at a home on Crestridge Circle near Irwin Bridge Road ended peacefully around noon today after the man agreed to go to the hospital.

Conyers police were called shortly before noon and blocked off the street leading to the house.

The man reportedly had been frustrated with bureaucratic red tape he encountered in trying to talk with his doctor. The man was reportedly armed with a handgun, but left the gun inside the home when he came out to talk with police.
