IN BRIEF: A standoff at the Waffle House on Evan's Mill Road in Lithonia had Interstate 20 backed up and area streets closed Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m. Two suspects holed up in the Waffle House after an attempted armed robbery; one was apprehended and one fled to a nearby parking lot where he held a gun to his head, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

Evans Mill Road, Mall Parkway and Woodrow Road were also shut down and MARTA buses were rerouted from the area, according to WSB-TV.
