Sixth annual Rubber Ducky Race ready to go

Rockdale County Senior Services 6th Annual Rubber Ducky Race will take place Thursday, June 24 at the Elk's Aidmore Children's Center.

There were 1,200 ducks initially available for the race, which is the Olivia Haydel Senior Center's biggest annual fundraiser, but organizers Michelle Crawford and Melissa Pugh anticipate the ducks will be soon sold out. Entries are $10 per duck or $25 for 3 ducks.

A plate lunch will be provided at $10 a plate, courtesy of Glenn's BBQ, Sysco, Conyers Market, Ms. Winners and Rockdale Site Council. Proceeds go to Rockdale County Senior Citizens programs such as Meals on Wheels, Congregate meals, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and Health and Wellness programs.

Prizes include a $153 package of four admission passes to the World of Coca-Cola, four varsity meal vouchers AMF Bowling passes and four $5 Moe's Southwest Grill gift cards, two VIP Box seat tickets to the Shakespear Tavern Theatre, $200 to Niseymay's Culinary Dreams Catering, $170 to Brendale's Spa & Gifts, a $50 coupon to Conyers Tennis Center and more.
