Public servant: The Conyers city council honored City Manger Tony Lucas for his 25 years of service to the city at their Sept. 2 meeting. Lucas, 55, a Conyers native, began as a Conyers police officer in 1984, was promoted to deputy chief in 1988 and became the Chief of Police in 1994. A decade later, in June of 2004, he was named interim city manger and became the city manager in 2005.
