Most of central Georgia, including Rockdale and Newton counties, is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

A severe thunderstorm warning, which means the storm has been spotted, is in effect for parts of south Fulton County, northern Clayton County, and parts of Walton and Gwinnett counties until 4:30 p.m., with gusts of 60 mph and quarter-sized hail possible.
