A missing man has the Newton County Sheriff’s Office asking for the public’s helping in finding where he may be.

NCSO deputies say Robert Weaver, 27, of Oxford has been missing since Thursday. His grandmother reported that she had not seen or heard from him in more than 24 hours.

According to information from the NCSO, Weaver was last seen around 7:25 p.m., walking south down Ga. Highway 142 with his large dog, King, near Stone Road.

However, Deputy Cortney Morrison, NCSO public information officer, said investigators were called to Weaver’s house Monday morning, after Weaver’s dog returned to the home.

Deputies conducted an immediate search of the area to see if they could locate Weaver, being that he left with his dog, but were not able to locate him.

Morrison said investigators have also learned that a lump sum of money was withdrawn from Weaver’s bank account.

Weaver is described as a white male weighing about 200 lbs. Deputies said Weaver has a medical condition and the Newton County Sheriff’s Office wants verification that he is okay.

Anyone with any information about Weaver’s location is asked to contact the Newton County Sheriff’s Office at 678-625-1400.
