Salem suffers third straight rout

Salem suffered its third straight rout, falling 12-1 in five innings to Loganville Wednesday.

Reed Hill pitched well for the Salem Seminoles, but lasted just 2 2/3 inning, giving up one hit with one strikeout and one walk.

"Our pitchers were a little gassed from throwing Monday in short stints and weren't as effective," Salem coach Chd Kitchens said. "However, Reed Hill did pitch well. I was proud to see that."

Garrett needham followed Hill on the mound and gave up six runs on four hits. Adam Hood added an inning and a third, and also gave up six runs, on five hit.

Zach Bailey and Jake Rich led the way offensively with two hits each for Salem (4-11, 2-4 Region 8-AAAA).

"We also hit the ball better than Monday but were 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position," Kitchens said.

The Salem Seminoles lost 8-1 to Loganville on Monday and 12-1 to Habersham Central on March 22. Salem hosts Clarke Central Thursday and travels to Winder-BArrow April 6.
