The Rockdale County Department of Planning and Development invites the public to a workshop on the implementation of the Urban Redevelopment Plan.

The meeting will be July 1 from 4p.m. to 7p.m. at the County Facility located at 2570 Old Covington Hwy. SW, Conyers, in partnership with the Atlanta Regional Commission. Light

refreshments will be served.

Residents, land owners and business owners are invited to discuss the potential for revitalization of the industrial area north of I-20 and the interstate corridor located between DeKalb County and the City of Conyers.

This area is burdened by declining activity, deteriorating structures and environmental hazards. The Urban Redevelopment Plan proposes its revitalization with a diversity of quality buildings and places that would offer flexible office and warehousing space, and support commercial and residential activities.

The goal of the workshop is to engage the community through brief presentations, discussions and brainstorming in developing a strong vision that will guide improvements in this area.
