Rockdale County Fire Rescue is looking for a few good men and women. RCFR will begin accepting applications for the position of Firefighter beginning on June 9. The application period will be open through July 25. Applications will be available online at www.rockdalecounty.org beginning on June 9.

On June 16, RCFR will host an open house at RCFR headquarters, 1496 Rockbridge Road, Conyers, from 1 pm until 8 pm. This will be a great opportunity for interested parties to ask any questions regarding the entire hiring process, the career as a Firefighter, as well as any other questions you may have. There will be computers available with internet connection so that anyone interested may apply for the position during the open house if they haven't already done so. There will also be Human Resources staff members present to answer any additional questions you may have regarding benefits, or any other Human Resource type questions.

Every fire station in Rockdale County will have brochures available to the public that contain information regarding the hiring process, as well as information on beginning your career as a Firefighter with RCFR. Anyone interested in becoming a Firefighter is encouraged to stop by the nearest RCFR fire station and pick one up.

The entire hiring process is expected to last through October 2014, with a tentative start date for those selected being in early November 2014.
