Rockdale fire department extricates person from accident

The Rockdale County Fire Department responded to several calls this weekend, beginning with a four car accident on Friday.

At 5:30 p.m. on Friday, the RCFD was called to the accident with injuries that occured on Hwy 138 near Sigman Rd. According to Deputy Fire Chief Dan Morgan, one person was extricated from an overturned vehicle by cutting through the roof area.

The person was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Atlanta.

Other calls were:
A house fire at 1715 Yellow ST at 2 a.m. on Saturday. The small attic fire was caused by electrical wiring and was extinguished by RCFD.
A vehicle fire in a barn around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at 4766 Hwy 20. Units from the RCFD and assistance from Newton County Fire Department responded to the burned car.
A vehicle fire next to a house at around 2 a.m. on Monday. The car was heavily damaged with no damage to the house.
