Cedar Shoals scored with 5 seconds left Friday night to snatch victory from the Bulldogs in a 22-21 win over Rockdale County.
The Bulldogs looked like they would snap a six game losing streak, taking a 21-7 lead into the fourth quarter.
However, the Red Raiders scored all of their points in the final 12 minutes.
"It was a close game, but stuff happens" Rockdale coach Michael Etheridge said. "Our kids played hard, and their kids played hard."
Rockdale, which is starting 10 sophomores, showed improvement against Madison County, putting up its highest point total of the season.
Leading the way were the Bulldogs' running backs, especially Jonathon Rhoden.
"Jonathan Rhoden ran very well, and the offensive line blocked very well," Etheridge said.
Rhoden was one of three runners to score for Rockdale, with DJ Ardister and James Baker picking up the other two touchdowns. Baker's TD came on a run of more than 60 yards.
"Our kids played hard," Frazier said. "I think we're all getting better each game."
Rockdale will look to overcome the closest loss of the season after a bye-week before hosting Clarke Central on Oct. 28.
