Rockdale escaped major storm damage after heavy thunderstorms and high winds rolled through the area Wednesday night.

Rockdale County Fire Department interim Deputy Chief Dan Morgan said the department received several calls between 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. of trees in the roadways or on power lines, but there was no major damage reported.

Tree limbs were reported down on Eastview Road.

A structure fire that reportedly started from a lightning strike was reported in an out building in the southern half of the county.
