RMC's Love Light Tree lights up holidays

Rockdale Medical Center and the RMC Volunteer Auxiliary celebrated the memory of loved ones during this holiday season with the lighting of the Love Light and Memory Trees Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the hospital.

The ceremony, held in the lobby of the East Tower entrance, was emceed by Kathy Methier, president of the RMC volunteer auxiliary. James Atkins, RMC COO, gave opening comments, and the guest speaker was the Rev. Billy Moss of Rockdale Baptist Church, was the keynote speaker, and special guest Santa Claus was on hand for pictures and a few words. The Salem High School Show Chorus, led by Lenae Rose, gave their show-stopping Christmas performance featuring both Broadway favorites and classics, for about 30 minutes. The RMC Volunteer Auxiliary led the crowd in a rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas to close out the show.

During the ceremony, special $10 ornaments were sold for residents to write the name of their loved one who had passed or who are in the hospital or in poor health during the holiday season. Proceeds benefit the RMC Auxiliary.
