The Rockdale County Sheriffs Office/EMA is hosting a National Weather Service Weather Spotter class open to the public.
The class is part of the StormReady requirements, and will be held on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Sheriffs Office on 911 Chambers Drive.
The Weather Spotter class is limited to the first 50 attendees and taught by NWS meteorologists, and will cover potential weather threats, identification of dangerous weather and important safety information.
The class provides information on storm-related risks for our radio, visual identification of particular weather patterns and procedures for contacting the National Weather Service, Myra Pearrell said.
Pre-registration is not necessary for the class.
