The Olivia Haydel Senior Center and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension program hosted a CarFit program on May 13 to offer older adults the opportunity to check how well their vehicles "fit" them for maximum comfort and safety.

CarFit is a national educational program developed through collaboration among AAA, the American Society on Aging, AARP, and the American Occupational Therapy Association. Robin Turi, Rockdale County Extension staff member and CarFit technician presented a one hour program; afterward the participants had their personal vehicles checked.

CarFit technicians are trained through UGA's Georgia Traffic Prevention Injury Institute. CarFit events are free to the public and held throughout the state. For more information about CarFit or to find an upcoming CarFit event goes to ridesafegeorgia.org
