As the holiday season approaches, there are plenty of options to keep in shape for that big turkey dinner and all the sweets that come in winter.
There are several 5K runs - with one mile, 10K, and even a high heel option - coming up in Rockdale, all for various worthy causes.

Reindeer Run and Food Drive 5K run and 1mile family fun walk

Conyers First Methodist Preschool and Kindergarten presents the Reindeer Run and Food Drive 5K run and 1 mile family fun walk on Saturday, Nov. 12.
The race will begin at Conyers First United Methodist Church in Olde Town on 921 North Main Street beginning at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K and 8:30 a.m. for the 1 mile walk.
The entry fee is $25 for individual and $75 for family of 4-and-up. T-shirts will be guaranteed to pre-registered participants and race day registrants may receive T-shirts while supplies last.

Run for Relief

Rockdale Emergency Relief will be hosting a Run for Relief Saturday, Nov. 12.
The race will begin at 8 a.m. for a 5K, with a 1 mile fun run/walk at 8:45 a.m. and a tot trot at 9 a.m. Staging for the race will be at 699 American Legion Rd with race day registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. Pre-race registration closes on Nov. 10, and is $25 for ages 12 and up, $10 for 11 and under, $60 for a family of up to four. 13th Annual Cross Country Turkey Trot

The 13th Annual Cross Country 5k Turkey Trot and 1 mile Turkey Tot Trot will be held at Elks Aidmore on Saturday, Nov. 19. The race will begin at 9 a.m. with the 5K, followed by the 1 mile run at 9:20 a.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m.
Long sleeve T-shirts will be guaranteed to all pre-registered runners and will be available on the day of the race while supplies last.
Cost is $20 for pre registration and $25 day of.

Kick the Stuffing out of cancer 5K

Peek's Chapel Elementary School will be hosting a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 7:30 a.m.

Aubrae Gunderson Memorial Scholarship 5K walk and run

The 7th Annual Aubrae Gunderson Memorial Scholarship 5K Walk and run, mile run and high heel hustle will be Saturday, Nov. 26
The race starts from Heritage High School, beginning at 8:45 a.m. with the 1 mile run, 9 a.m. for the 5K run and 10:30 a.m. for a 40-yard spring in heels at least 3 inches tall.
Cost is $15 for pre-registration received before Nov. 19 and $20 day of registration, which opens at 7:30 a.m.
All proceeds go to the Aubrae Gunderson Memorial Scholarship fund.

Rockdale Special Olympics Rock on Rockdale 5K and fun run

The Rockdale Special Olympics will host its inaugural Rock on Rockdale 5K and fun run on Saturday, March 24, 2012.
The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the one mile fun run and at 9 a.m. for the 5K at 9:35 a.m. at Whistle Post Tavern on Railroad Street, Conyers.
Ages brackets range from 10-and-under through 75-and-up for he race that runs through Olde Town Conyers.
Pre registration is $20, postmarked before March 5, and $25 after March 5 through race day per person. A family pack is available for $70, pre registration only.
