Phoenix Pass is looking for a few good men and women on March 20 to volunteer in landscaping and painting the interior of Phoenix Pass, a transitional housing development in Rockdale County.

The Phoenix Pass Board of Directors is asking individuals or groups to come together for a work day to prepare for the planned opening of Phase I of Phoenix Pass this spring. Volunteers are asked to sign up to help paint or landscape during one of three sessions: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (arrive 15 minutes early for instructions), 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (arrive 15 minutes early for instructions)

To volunteer, please call 770.760.1020. Those who plan to paint should bring a brush or roller and those who plan to landscape are asked to bring a rake or shovel.

Phoenix Pass, located on the Light House Village campus at 541 Sigman Road, is a grassroots, community-based partnership between First Baptist Church of Conyers and Rockdale Emergency Relief, a non-profit organization supported by United Way in Rockdale. The Phoenix Pass project will eventually include two apartment buildings with a total of 15 units and a security office, along with a community center. Phase I consists of one apartment building and the community center, which will have laundry facilities, space for residents to socialize and areas for children to study and play.
