Pedestrian robbed after ambush

CONYERS - A Conyers man reported his belongings stolen after being attacked early Wednesday morning.

According to the incident report, the 26-year-old victim told police he was walking along North Ridge Drive shortly after 1 a.m. when an unknown subject "hit him on the head and took off with his book bag."

"I noticed that (the victim) was disoriented and had his hands on top of his head," wrote Officer Fred Williams in the report. "I then examined (the victim's) injuries and noticed a red marking on the top of his head. The marking was consistent with details that (the victim) provided."

The attack caused the victim to "black out" and left him sprawled out on the street, according to the report. The victim stated when he regained consciousness, his black book bag, computers, clothes and cash were gone.

The victim stated he couldn't provide a description of the attacker. Also, it's not known how many people might have been involved.
