Nail polish, lip gloss and high fashion converged last Saturday at the Olde Town Gallery when the As I Am Girls Club hosted a "Pamper Me Pretty" day. Twenty girls turned out for the event and were styled by a team of volunteers. Lyndsey Clegg with Rag Owl provided ensembles for them to wear during the fashion show while make-up artists Laura Bramble and Crystal Smith played up their natural assets. The girls were also treated to mani-pedis complete with sparkly nail art. Decorating mirrors and smoothies rounded out the day.
Founder MeLisa Collins said her favorite part of the day was chatting with the girls while doing their nails. "In that environment, it’s easy and more natural for them to open up and have a conversation," she said. Her mission is "to inspire young women to become more productive through education and a healthy self-esteem."
