We can’t equate spending on veterans with spending on defense. Our strength is not just in the size of our defense budget, but in the size of our hearts, in the size of our gratitude for their sacrifice. And that’s not just measured in words or gestures.
~ Jennifer Granholm
Sunday is a very special day. It doesn’t get the attention of Christmas and the Fourth of July, but it should.
As we celebrate Veterans Day this year, we should be ever mindful that we owe such a debt of gratitude not only to our veterans nationwide but to the 13,000 plus who live right here in Rockdale County.
Without the courage and dedication of our many veterans, we would not have a country in which to celebrate our great holidays or even our lives living in freedom for that matter.
We offer our deepest gratitude and special thoughts of thanksgiving for our veterans. If you have one who lives in your house, reach over and give him or her a big hug and an extra long kiss and say thanks for all of us. God Bless our veterans.
