Our Thoughts: True Leaders

The Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus honored two of our local women leaders recently.

Representative Pam Dickerson nominated Rockdale County State Court Judge Nancy Bills for her outstanding work in establishing the DUI, Family Violence and Drug Accountability courts.

In addition Judge Bills has been a community activist, heading the Rockdale Family Violence Task Force.

In addition to Judge Bills, Representative Dee Dawkins-Haigler nominated Tisa Washington for her efforts as Rockdale County Deputy Tax Commissioner, head of the Keep Conyers-Rockdale Beautiful Board, the former head of the Democratic Party in Rockdale among her other volunteer activities she is a member of the 2015 Leadership Rockdale class, a program operated by the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce. Washington also served as the first editor of The News.

We think the caucus made excellent choices. Both of these ladies are true leaders in our community and we are proud of both them.

They both serve as excellent models for the young women of our community to emulate as they take an interest in the future growth of Conyers-Rockdale County.
