At first glance, the new redistricting map representing proposed new Georgia districts looks like Rockdale County is on the short end of the representation stick again.

In this new proposal, instead of being split into four House districts, Rockdale will now be split into six.

After a closer look, being split into six districts might not be so bad. Two of the new districts will be prominently conservative, one of the house districts will contain more of Rockdale voters than any other district, which is a plus, and the new maps will put our current Senator Ron Ramsey's district square in the middle of Rockdale.

This will force our no show Senator to make a choice either to fully represent our county or take the chance of not being reelected. That alone is a heartening prospect.
