In 2010, the Transportation Investment Act created the opportunity for state residents to vote on a penny sales tax to support local and metro transportation needs.

It is still not decided whether a vote on this tax increase to improve transportation will take place next summer or next fall. In the meantime, the regional Metro group that includes Rockdale County is seeking community input.

On Sept. 27 a forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m at the JP Carr Community Center, 981 Taylor St., Conyers, for the community to offer input.

If you are interested in the transportation needs of our area - especially if you commute - we would recommend that you make plans to attend this forum.
