Our Thoughts: Good community volunteer

Danny Stone is the type of guy that once you meet him you will always remember him.

He works for Snapping Shoals EMC as their representative and serves three counties, Henry, Newton and Rockdale.

He would probably set a Guinness World Record for the groups he has served and been a part of over the years.

He not only has served on the many boards that are in all three counties, he has taken an active part in them and served them all with distinction. His counsel on community affairs is sought out by many.

In Rockdale he has served with distinction on the Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council board for 10 years. He has also served on the Chamber of Commerce board as a past chair and currently serving on the executive board.

This week Stone has stepped down as a representative of the chamber on the CREDC board due to personal reasons.

This is a loss for the CREDC and the community.

Stone will continue serving on the Chamber board and next year will be co-chair of the Chamber’s Leadership Rockdale program, taking the place of longtime organizer Tim Baker.

T. Pat Cavanaugh will fill the Chambers position on the CREDC board.
