Our Thoughts: Georgia prisoners

Georgia prisoners ended their week-long non-violent protests and stated reporting to work assignments Wednesday.

Among their complaints was lack of pay, the quality of food, lack of fruits and vegetables, quality of medical care, availability of education and job training programs, parole decisions and just general overall conditions.

We have an idea for our newly elected Governor: feed the prisoners bread and water for the next year. The savings on food could then go to a newly created fund that would assist law abiding citizens in the state who actually try to do the right thing.
